THE VIEW POINT OF WATCHING THIS YEARS IPL WAS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THE TEAMS WERE ENTIRELY DIFFERENT AS COMPARED TO LAST YEAR AND THE TOURNAMENT WAS POSTPONED TO SEPTEMBER DUE TO THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC THE TOURNAMENT WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED TO BE HELD IN MARCH OR APRIL AND THE TOURNAMENT WAS ORGANISED IN UAE.
lets look at the some of the batsman who played well for their respective franchise:
Devdutt Padikkal a 20 year old left handed batsman played this season for Royal challengers Bangalore under the captaincy of Virat Kohli he scored 473 runs for the franchise which includes 5 half centuries. Even his captain Virat Kohli praised him for his performance in this years ipl also he was considered to be one of the best find of this years ipl.
Ruturaj Gaikwad a 23 year old right handed batsman played this season for Chennai Super Kings under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. He was infected by covid 19 initially and thats why he was not able to get featured in the playing eleven. He was selected in the playing eleven in the later phase of the tournament and scored 3 consequtive half centuries and scored 204 runs for the franchise but till the time his team was already knocked out of the tournament. Even his captain Ms Dhoni praised him and said that he is one of the most talented players around.
Shubman Gill a 21 year old right handed batsman played this season for Kolkata Knight Riders under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik initially and then under the captaincy of Eoin Morgan. It was a fairly good season for him as he scored most number of runs for the franchise and scored 440 runs including 3 half centuries. This time he played as an all time opener for the team and did a good job, last year he did not got much opportunities for opening the innings.
Abdul Samad a 19 year old right handed batsman played this season for Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of David Warner. It was really exciting to see him play because he was the only player from Kashmir who got featured in the tournament and also we got to know about the explosiveness of his batting when he hit sixes against some world class bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada. It was fairly good season for him.
Riyan Parag a 19 year old right handed batsman played this season for Rajastan Royals under the captaincy of Steve Smith. Everyone was quite excited to see him bat because of his tremendous performance in the previous edition of ipl where he scored a 50 at the age of 18. And even his captain praised his abilities. This year he did'nt played any remarkable innings but was part of few finishes of his franchise.
Ishan Kishan a 22 year left handed wicket keeper batsman played this season for Mumbai Indians under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and then Kieron Pollard. It was a brilliant season for him as he scored most number of runs for his franchise as he scored 516 runs which includes 4 half centuries. His career best score of 99 runs was achieved by him in his first match of ipl 2020 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Rahul Tripathi a 29 year old right handed batsman played this season for Kolkata Knight Riders under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik and then Eoin Morgan. He played at very different positions for the franchise like he played as an opener, at number 3 or at number 7. He also made his career best 81 as an opener against CSK. he also scored 211 runs for the franchise.
Priyam Garg a 20 year old right handed batsman played this season for Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of David Warner. Although he did'nt got much chances down the order but his innings of 51 runs which includes 6 boundaries and 1 six against CSK was his remarkable effort.
Rahul Tewatia a 27 year old left hand all rounder played this season for Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of Steve Smith. he played remarkably well in both batting and bowling departments and played a role of a good finisher. But his landmark innings came against Kings Eleven Punjab where he scored 50 which includes 5 sixes on the bowling of Sheldon Cottrel.
Nitish Rana a 26 year old left handed batsman played this season for Kolkata Knight Riders under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik and then Eoin Morgan. He played this season at two positions first at number 3 and then as an opener. He scored his career best 87 against Delhi Capitals and made 352 runs for his franchise which include 3 half centuries.
Suryakumar Yadav a 30 year old right handed batsman played this season for Mumbai Indians under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and then Kieron Pollard. It was a fantastic season for him as he scored 385 runs for his franchise which includes 4 half centuries and he also scored his career best 79 against RCB.
Sanju Samson a 26 year old right handed wicket keeper batsman played this season for Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of Steve Smith. He started the season with bang when he scored 74 and 85 runs respectively in first two matches of Rajasthan Royals. But lost the way after that then he came back and scored few good innings for his franchise. He was also the top scorer of his team as he scored 385 runs which include 3 half centuries.
Mayank Agarwal a 29 year old right handed batsman played this season for Kings Eleven Punjab under the captaincy of KL Rahul. He scored 424 runs which includes 1 century and 2 half centuries while opening with his captain KL Rahul but got injured and was'nt able to play for his team.
Abhishek Sharma a 20 year old right handed batsman played this season for Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of David Warner. He was'nt able to make a mark in the 8 matches he played for the team.
Prithvi Shaw a 21 year old right handed batsman played this season for Delhi Capitals under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. He played amazingly in the start of the tournament but was'nt able to contine his great run due to some flaws in his batting technique although he scored 228 runs which include 2 half centuries.
Mahipal Lomror a 21 year old left handed batsman played this season for Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of Steve Smith. Although he played only 3 matches for the franchise but he scored his career best 47 against RCB.
Rishabh Pant a 23 year old left handed wicket keeper batsman played this season for Delhi Capitals under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. Although this season he was not the same he used to be in the previous editions of ipl. His best score in this ipl was 56 and scored 343 runs for his team.
Manish Pandey a 31 year old right handed batsman played this season for Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of David Warner. It was brilliant season for him his highest score was 83 and scored 425 runs for his franchise which included 3 half centuries.
Shreyas iyer a 26 year old right handed batsman played this season for Delhi Capitals and was the youngest captain of ipl 2020. It was a spectacular season for him as he led his team to the finals for the very first time and scored 519 run for his franchise which includes 3 half centuries
Now we will look at some of the bowlers who made the mark in this ipl:
Sandeep Sharma a 27 year old bowler played this season for Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of David Warner. He took 14 wickets in 16 matches he played for his franchise. He bowled well throughout the season and became an ace bowler for SRH after the injury of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Deepak Chahar a 28 year old bowler played this season for Chennai Super Kings under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. He took 12 wickets in 14 matches he played for his team. Although he was not at his best this year. He was also infected by covid 19 in the initial phase of ipl.
Tushar Deshpande a 25 year old bowler played this season for Delhi Capitals under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. Although he did'nt got much chances but took 3 wickets in 5 matches he played.
Mohammed Siraj a 26 year old bowler played this season for Royal Challengers Bangalore under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. He took 11 wickets in just 9 matches he was part of, this was the best season for him as he bowled well for his franchise as compared to the previous editions of the ipl. He also bowled in the powerplay overs and proved to be very effective.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti a 20 year old bowler played this season for Kolkata Knight Riders under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik initially and then Eoin Morgan. He took 5 wickets in 10 matches he was part of. He was not able to take a part in the previous editions of ipl due to injuries.
Kartik Tyagi a 20 year old bowler played this season for Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of Steve Smith. He took 9 wickets in 10 matches he was part of and provide important breakthroughs although it was his first ipl he impressed everyone.
Arshdeep Singh a 21 year old bowler played this season for Kings Eleven Punjab under the captaincy of KL Rahul. He took 9 wickets in 8 matches and played well for his franchise.
T. Natrajan a 29 year old bowler played this season for Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of David Warner. He took 16 wickets 16 matches he was part off. He was considered to be the best seamer of ipl 2020 because he bowled most number of yorkers this season, he was an ace bowler for Hyderabad because of which the team was able to make it to the playoffs. He was also selected as a net bowler for limited overs format of cricket for India tour of Austrailia and then earned his maiden call up for debut in ODI's and T20's.
Prasidh Krishna a 24 year old bowler played this season for Kolkata Knight Riders under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik. He took 4 wickets in 6 matches he was part off, he did'nt got much chances but can be proved to be very effective.
Harshal Patel a 30 year old bowler played this season for Delhi Capitals under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. He played only 5 matches and took 3 wickets. He has impressed us with his batting skills down the order in previous editions of ipl.
Khaleel Ahmed a 23 old bowler played this season for Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of David Warner. He took 8 wickets in 7 matches he was part off. It was a quite off season for him as he was not very effective this season.
Shivam Mavi a 22 year old bowler played this season for Kolkata Knight Riders under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik and then Eoin Morgan. He took 9 wickets from 8 matches he was part off. It was a fairly good season for him as he performed quite well for his franchise.
Rahul Chahar a 21 year old bowler played this season for Mumbai Indians under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and the Kieron Pollard. He took 15 wickets in 15 matches he was part of and this was a great season for him.
Ravi Bishnoi a 20 year old bowler played this season for Kings Eleven Punjab under the captaincy of KL. Rahul. He took 12 wickets of 14 matches he was part of. It was a spectacular season for him because he bowled well for his franchise and coming from the under 19 world cup and then performing at this level is like a dream come true for him.
Washington Sundar a 21 year old allrounder played this season for Royal Challengers Bangalore under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. He took 8 wickets in 15 matches he was part off and also scored 111 runs for his franchise. This ipl was fantastic for his as he was considered to be the most economical bowler of this season.
Shahbaz Nadeem a 31 year old experienced bowler played this season for Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of David Warner. He took 5 wickets from the 7 matches he was part off. He bowled well for the team.
Varun Chakravarthy a 29 year old bowler played this season for Kolkata Knight Riders under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik and then Eoin Morgan. He took 17 wickets from 13 matches he was part off. Due to this he also earned his maiden call up for T20i's in Australia but he was ruled out of the series due to an injury.
Murugan Ashwin a 30 year old bowler played this season for Kings Eleven Punjab under the captaincy of KL.Rahul. He took 10 wickets from 9 matches he was part off, he provided important breakthroughs to the team.
Shahbaz Ahmed a 26 year old bowler played this season for Royal Challengers Bangalore under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. He was part of only two matches and took only two wickets but was quite a good talent.
Jayant Yadav a 30 year old bowler played this season for Mumbai Indians under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. He was only part of 2 match and took only one wicket but he was a quite an exiting talent as he has'nt played much in ipl.
Pravin Dubey a 27 year old bowler played this season for Delhi Capitals under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. He was part of only 3 matches and did'nt took any wickets but it was his first ipl he could be a real asset for his franchise.
THIS IPL PROVIDED SOME REAL CHANCES TO SOME YOUNGSTERS ALTHOUGH SOME HAVE'NT PROVED THEMSELVES BUT I AM DAMN SURE THEY WILL SURELY BECOME A REAL ASSET TO THEIR RESPECTIVE FRANCHISE.
